The R. Allen Sunderman Technology Endowment

Recipients must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree program in or closely related to information technology. The Dean of the Sunderman College, in consultation with the Foundation, may periodically update the list of qualifying programs to reflect curriculum changes, provided the updates remain consistent with the donor’s intent to support IT-related education for Northern Minnesota students.

In the academic year 2026-2027, when the original endowment was funded, programs aligned with the donor’s original vision included the following programs:
– Business administration with an emphasis in analytics information systems • Computer science 3D & UX • Computer science, • Computer science, web & UX • Computer science & design • Digital Illustration & animation • Exhibit & expo design • Graphic design • Interactive multimedia design • Educational technology • Engineering technology • GIS Science Maker space technology • Logistics & supply chain technology • Management information systems • Project management • Construction management

The scholarship shall be awarded to students who are residents of, or graduated from high schools within, Northern Minnesota.
