Aalberts Memorial Scholarship

The Edwin J. Aalberts Memorial Scholarship shall be awarded each year to an undergraduate student in his or her sophomore, junior or senior year, with a priority given to a transfer student from two year campuses within the state of Minnesota. Students must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, and have an identifiable need for financial assistance. b. To be considered a student must apply to the Scholarship Officer. At a minimum, the application must consist of an essay on why the scholarship is important to the student. The scholarship shall be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Officer. The scholarship, in the amount of $300.00, shall be awarded each year that funds are available in the Edwin J. Aalberts Memorial Scholarship account in the Bemidji State University Foundation. The scholarship shall be applied toward the cost of tuition in equal proportions per term. d. The amount of the scholarship may be adjusted, in $100.00 increments, to reflect the income of the account. Adjustments may be made in the scholarship amount to allow for a larger award, or the provision of more than one scholarship, if income allows.
